Fit refers to the options of fitting the blinds inside the frame recess, or fitting the blind to the outside of the frame or wall above. The key with inside fit is checking your recess depth (check for any obstructions, mullions, window latches or door handles). Then with outside fit, what is the architrave thickness or what is the space above the frame to fit brackets. Inside fit is very common but you will have light gaps. Outside fit is generally used when you can't fit inside or if you are trying to reduce light gaps.

• 50mm Venetian: 70mm
• 25mm Venetian: 40mm
• Honeycomb: 40mm
• Vertical: 90mm (minimum frame depth required for inside fit 45mm)

This is the colour of the aluminium headrail used on your Vertical Blind. You will see this across the top of the window recess if inside fit or along the wall if outside fit. We recommend picking an option that is neutral to your room setting and the blind fabric as you want a seamless look. Consider the window frame and wall colour when picking an option. Alternatively the track could be a chance to make a statement with the hardware. For example if you have a white interior with black accents you could order white fabric and a black track for a contrast look. Example below.

Our Vertical and Allusion® Blinds can be cord and chain control or wand control. With cord control you have a cord to draw the blades across and then a separate weighted chain to tilt the blades. The wand control option draws the blinds across and when you twist the wand you can tilt the blades. Some people prefer wand control for child safety purposes.

This is the length of the cords and chains or wand that operate your Vertical Blinds. We have standard chain lengths listed in the drop down. The length listed is the length the chain drops down to and then it loops back up the same amount. So our 1000mm chain will hang 1000mm down from the top of the blind control unit and loop back up 1000mm. When deciding the length just ensure it is at a length you can comfortably operate the blind.

Control side refers to the placement (left of right) of the mechanism that allows the user to operate the blind. To help you decide, consider what side is easiest to access, and what side is away from the opening of the door or window if possible. If motorised (Roller or Roman) this is the end that is either easiest to recharge the battery operated motor from, or the end the hard wiring is to.

This is the side the Vertical Blind or Allusion® Blind Fabric stacks to when blind is open. When deciding, look at where the window or door opens from. Ideally you want the fabric to stack away from the nearest opening. If your door opens from the right you would want the fabric to stack left. You have the choice for the control side in a separate box on the online order form. Generally people order same cord side as stack side. But not always, sometimes you want the control side to be nearest the opening especially if the blind is for a high use entry-exit door and you want to be able to close the blind behind you as you leave and open the blind as you enter, in that case it can be handy having the cord on the opening side. If you pick split stack, then it would be whatever side is most convenient for the control side.

Vertical Blinds require weights in the bottom of fabric vanes to keep them hanging correctly. You have two options, the traditional style with link chains or chainless with no chains. We find that chained weights are neat and tidy for example with a breeze or movement the fabric sits nicer. Some people have reported they prefer chainless if they have an indoor pet as it seems to lessen the attraction to the parts near the bottom of the blind.
